The team has been hard at work updating the current prototype to an alpha status for the first phase of development. Currently we have a playable level with mostly placeholder assets. Our artist has been working on backgrounds and ship designs as well as character designs for the first boss. We recently added a new playable area at the end of the prototype with many spawning enemies. Once the player destroys a number of these enemies, a splash screen is loaded with the current sprite animation of the Toad King boss we are currently working on. I recently worked on getting a Mac version up and running, as well as some test music for some atmospheric parts of the prototype.

Over the past week I’ve continued to make art assets for our swamp level in softwares such as photoshop and procreate. I created a sprite sheet of the toad boss in an idle stance and will continue to make sprites of his attacks and defensive moves. I’ve also been working on swamp enemies and backgrounds that will soon be, if not already, implemented into the game.  

Upcoming goals:

-Continue work on sprites and backgrounds

-Learn to use tiles

-Add one new level for swamp theme

-Add one level for psychedelic theme (placeholder assets)

-Continue work on Toad King boss battle

-Export Game in HTML5 (if we have access to GM Web) (Kacper)
